Choosing the best chair for exercise is something that many exercisers and coaches tend to overlook.
Chair workouts are fun, doable, and can be accomplished anywhere you can sit. However, like any other exercise program, you have to have the right equipment to work out safely.
All motorcycle helmets are not equal. Sure all helmets are designed to protect your head if you have an accident. But not all helmets are certified and tested before going to market. The end result of poorly made products is usually not good.
And that is also true for all chairs. You can get injured or possibly worse if you do not use common sense when using a chair to sit or exercise.
Finding the best chair for sitting isn’t tricky. But exercise requires a little more thought. You have to know what to look for when choosing the right chair.
Do you get a chair that folds, has a handle, rolls, or swivels? Should your chair be lower or higher? Does it matter if I have a backrest or not? What weight capacity should I look for if I’m obese?
Watch this short video and tell me if you are safe with the chair you’re using or do you think you need to change it for a better one.
I Definitely needed to see this video. My biggest problem is that I have not been able to find a chair with the correct height. So right now I use a shower chair because I can adjust the height on the Legs. It’s not the best choice but for right now I’m working with it. I’m 5 ft 4, currently 276.
With bone on bone on right hip. As I was preparing for surgery on the hip some other thing were revealed so I had 4 major surgeries between November 2018 and December 2019, then COVID-19 show up and caused some challenges with receiving PT, but I’m used to workout, just need to find something that works for me. I’ve gained about 15 pounds during this COVID-19 but my joint pain has slowed me down but not stop me. Currently I’ve been enjoying quite a few of your exercises. Be in my room letting you have it like I was in the gym. My daughter tells me she’s going to video me one day and send it in. Seems like to say the right things at the right time, just as if you could see me, especially stop slouching and 10 more. But do you have any recommendations as to where I could look for a chair. I have to put a cushion on shower chair so I can do the squats. Any suggestions/ recommendations would be so very much appreciated.
I would love to view the video on choosing the right chair but the video is unavailable. Can you let me and other members of the Community know how we can access this video. Thank you.
